Selection considerations

Define the wetting task

Describe the surface, formulation and application method, along with the wetting or penetration problem you want to address. Evaluate the selected agent in the complete formulation rather than treating its water solubility or concentration as proof of suitability.

Check foam and compatibility together

Compare wetting with foam behavior and formulation compatibility under your mixing and application conditions. For a film-forming system, include appearance and the relevant finished-film properties in your evaluation.

Confirm the solvent and end-use requirements

Specify any solvent-profile or end-use restrictions before selecting a grade. Use the current product documentation to resolve those requirements; do not infer a solvent-free composition or regulatory suitability from a water-soluble description.

Compare the right property basis

Keep the active-content label and pH measurement dilution attached to the value. For a series, obtain the selected variant's properties first. Compare dosage and cost at the performance you need, rather than choosing on concentration or drum price alone.

Common selection questions

Does the listed pH define my operating range?

No. IB-SW-101's pH is a measurement at the stated dilution, not a recommended operating-pH range. Evaluate compatibility at your formulation's actual pH and process conditions.

Can I select IB-SW-200 from the same specification as IB-SW-101?

No. IB-SW-200 is a series with variant-dependent properties. Identify the variant before comparing specifications, packaging or formulation performance. The values listed for IB-SW-101 do not apply to the series.

What if I need a replacement for a current wetting agent?

Start with the current product, surface, formulation and the reason for the change. Include the performance that must stay the same, as well as any foam, solvent or end-use constraints. Confirm the replacement in your complete formulation.
